Australia’s most popular retail stores are almost entirely staffed by men, according to a new survey.
A new study found more than half of Australia’s top 10 fashion retailers were predominantly male.
The survey of 1,000 shoppers found that women made up just over one-third of the Australian retail sector.
It said the majority of men working in retail had never worked in retail before.
In Australia’s fashion industry, women make up more than a quarter of sales and salespeople make up over a third of retail positions, the survey said.
The most popular apparel retailers in the country are owned by men.
The survey found men made up around half of all retailers, with the majority working at men’s clothing brands.
